Linen Upholstery Cleaning – We Know Our Fibres
In some instances we come across a fabric that looks like heavy duty cotton. With no care label to guide us with the cleaning, we can draw on decades of Linen upholstery cleaning experience to choose the right restoration path. What do we mean by “right restoration path” in this instance? It really refers to safe and effective lounge cleaning.
First we need to understand a bit more about linen fabric. Often mistaken for cotton, it actually comes from the flax or linseed plant. The fibres are stronger than cotton but less elastic. Linen is used in the production of bed sheets and can be combined with silk to make Damask furniture.
What makes our linen upholstery cleaning stand out?
Our technicians will test the fabric before starting the actual cleaning process.
The focus will be to dry the fabric quickly. Our Chem-Dry carbonated cleaning solution is ideal for this kind of cleaning. If the drying process takes longer than expected, we are able to introduce blowers to speed things up. Your convenience is very important to us and we want you to be able to use the upholstery the same day.
When silk is also present in the fabric, it may require an adjustment to the linen upholstery cleaning process. In this instance, OMS (odourless mineral spirits) is first used in a two stage cleaning process. Once agitation and OMS extraction is completed, we follow with our standard upholstery cleaning. This is a safer procedure and better protects cross weaves.
We always say that price determines quality. It is very true when you have a quality lounge cleaning requirement. Chem-Dry will deliver safe and effective fabric furniture cleaning every time.
