Fake Suede Upholstery Cleaning – Part of ChemDry’s Premium Service
Part of the skill of a good upholstery cleaner is to identify the fibre of the upholstery that they are about to clean. Fake Suede upholstery cleaning is one of our speciality ChemDry couch cleaning services. Quite often large, modern looking modular lounge suites are made of a material called “fake suede”. This fake suede has millions of synthetic fibres which give a similar appearance to suede leather. The actual fibres have nothing to do with with suede leather, they just look quite similar. As the cleaning processes used for suede leather and fake suede are quite different, it is crucial that our technicians have the ability to identify the correct fibres.
Fake suede upholstery leaning maintenance tips:
Regular vacuuming with your furniture attachment will prevent dirt and grime from compacting on the fibres over time. Turn cushions over from time to time.
This fabric can be quite easy to maintain as it is quite water and stain resistant. Keep in mind that is not stain proof. When a spillage does happen, blot the material as much as you can and avoid frantic rubbing of the lounge. One of the best ways to remove stains from a sofa is to have a dry/wet vacuum to remove as much moisture as possible. Most food stains need to be attended to as soon as they happen for the best results. We recommend that you have our specialist spot remover handy to help with the stain removal.
It is also a good idea to get the fabric as dry as possible as quickly as possible. This will avoid wicking, which may cause a larger water stain on some fabrics.
